SEO Specialist / Content Writer (Senior)

About the Role
We are looking for a Senior SEO Specialist / Content Writer who understands SEO as a revenue‑driving growth channel — not just content production. This role requires strong hands‑on experience in SEO strategy, analytics, content optimisation, and client‑facing presentations and proposal support.
You will be expected to work closely with internal teams and management to present strategies, support pitches, and help win projects, in addition to delivering strong SEO execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Write high‑quality, SEO‑optimised content in English (Malay proficiency is a bonus)
- Conduct keyword research, identify content gaps, and build content pillars and topic clusters
- Use SEO tools such as Ahrefs, Google Analytics (GA4), Google Search Console, and SEO writing assistants
- Install, configure, and validate GA4, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting
- Structure content using search intent, hierarchy, internal linking, and long‑tail targeting
- Use ChatGPT and AI tools effectively with proper prompt engineering (not copy‑paste)
- Proofread and optimise content for clarity, accuracy, and SEO best practices
- Manage multiple client accounts, content calendars, and timelines
- Prepare high‑quality SEO proposals, strategy decks, and content roadmaps
- Produce, analyse, and explain SEO and GA4 reports with actionable insights
- Present SEO strategies, proposals, and performance results confidently to clients
- Support sales pitches and project acquisition with strong SEO input and recommendations
- Collaborate with designers, developers, strategists, and account managers
- Stay updated on Google algorithm updates and SEO trends
Requirements
Core SEO & Content Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an SEO Content Writer or SEO Specialist (agency experience preferred)
- Strong hands‑on experience in keyword research, SERP analysis, and search intent mapping
- Proven experience building content pillars, topic clusters, and internal linking structures
- Strong understanding of on‑page SEO (titles, meta descriptions, headings, schema basics)
- Experience optimising existing content to improve rankings and traffic
Analytics & Tracking
- Proven experience in Google Analytics installation and GA4 setup
- Strong working knowledge of GA4 reports, events, conversions, and traffic analysis
- Experience using Google Search Console to analyse queries, indexing, and performance
Tools & Technical Awareness
- Hands‑on experience using Ahrefs (keyword research, content gap, competitor analysis)
- Solid understanding of technical SEO fundamentals (crawlability, indexing, site structure, Core Web Vitals impact)
- Familiarity with WordPress and SEO plugins (Yoast, Rank Math, etc.)
Strategy, Presentation & Client Work
- Strong experience in SEO proposal creation, including scope, timelines, deliverables, and KPIs
- Excellent presentation skills — able to explain strategies clearly and confidently to clients
- Comfortable participating in client pitches, proposal presentations, and strategy meetings
- Ability to help win projects through strong SEO recommendations and clear value articulation
- Confident, outgoing communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
AI & Workflow
- Practical experience using ChatGPT and AI tools for SEO ideation and planning
- Clear understanding of AI limitations and ability to edit, optimise, and validate output
Nice‑to‑Have (Strong Advantage)
- Experience across multiple industries (local SEO, e‑commerce, B2B, services)
- Understanding of topical authority and semantic SEO
- Basic HTML knowledge
- Ability to mentor junior writers or perform content QA
