A leading development firm in Johor is seeking a Deputy General Manager for Finance & Procurement. This role involves overseeing financial operations and procurement strategies, ensuring compliance, and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Studies, is professionally qualified (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA), and has over 8 years of experience in financial roles. Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills are essential for success in this fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsible for overseeing the company’s financial and procurement functions, ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial management. This role involves leading financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and procurement strategies while driving process improvements and cost optimization. The position requires strong leadership to manage finance and procurement teams, foster supplier relationships, and support business objectives through data-driven decision-making.
Job Descriptions:
Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting, and compliance.
Ensure accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings.
Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth and profitability.
Maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations.
Provide strategic financial insights to senior leadership and board members.
Procurement Management:
Oversee procurement activities, including supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and cost-saving initiatives.
Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
Ensure compliance with procurement policies and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Manage supplier performance, pricing, and risk mitigation strategies.
Lead procurement teams to optimize purchasing efficiency and value.
Leadership & Team Development:
Lead and mentor finance and procurement teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
Identify talent gaps, facilitate career development, and implement succession planning.
Strategic & Operational Oversight:
Partner with the CEO and senior management on financial planning and business strategy.
Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
To execute any other job requirements as assigned by the Superior/Management.
Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Accounting / Business Studies
Professionally qualified (ACCA, CIMA, CPA and other equivalents).
A member of MIA is preferred
8+ years of functional experience in a financial role with expanding scope.
Exposure to both external audit and in-house financial management experience.
Possess good leadership and communication skills.
The ability to operate at a high level, flexible and fast-paced work environment.
Able to maintain high level of personal integrity and confidentiality
Strong organizational and analytical skills and attention to details
