Job Purpose
The HR Officer plays a strategic and operational role in supporting the effective delivery of human resource services across the organisation. This includes implementing and maintaining HR practices, policies, and initiatives that support talent attraction, employee engagement, performance management, learning and development, employee relations, and compliance with labour legislation. The HR Officer serves as a key liaison between employees, management, and the broader HR function, ensuring consistent application of HR standards while fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Human Resource Management (NQF 6 or higher)
Experience & Functional Competencies
- HR Generalist Experience: 3-5 years across key HR functions
- SAP HR Proficiency: Minimum of 2 years, including Compensation, ESS, MSS
- Legislative Knowledge: South African HR legislation, including Skills Development Act, LRA, BCEA, EEA
- Skills Development Facilitation: 1-2 years as an SDF, reporting to a SETA
- Technical & Data Skills: Advanced in Microsoft Office, analytical skills for HR data interpretation

Focuses on consolidating training needs, managing WSP-ATR submissions, training records, talent reviews, performance initiatives, and employee schemes.
Remuneration & Benefits
Includes salary surveys, benefits administration, disability processes, reporting, and policy maintenance.
Desired Skills
- Experience with ESS and MSS systems
- Background in Cement industry advantageous
- IR and HR legislation knowledge, CCMA representation, data analysis, HR matrix, SAP reporting
