A professional services company based in Cape Town is seeking a Part-Time HR Officer to support HR operations, employee administration, and compliance. The ideal candidate has a Matric and an HR qualification, along with prior experience in HR roles. Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced HR professional to join our growing Cape Town team on a part-time basis (3 days per week). This role will support core HR operations, employee administration, and compliance across the business, working closely with management and operational teams.
This position is ideal for an organised, detail-oriented HR professional who enjoys hands-on HR administration and ensuring best practice across the employee lifecycle.
Provide day-to-day HR administrative support across the business
Manage employee records, contracts, and personnel files (electronic and physical)
Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation and compliance checks
Assist with HR policies, procedures, and internal compliance requirements
Coordinate leave records, attendance tracking, and HR data reporting
Support performance management, probation tracking, and disciplinary documentation
Assist with recruitment administration, interview scheduling, and offer documentation
Act as a point of contact for routine HR queries from staff and management
Ensure confidentiality, ethical standards, and compliance with labour legislation
Education & Qualifications
Matric / Grade 12 (essential)
Relevant HR qualification (Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or related field – essential)
Experience
Previous experience in an HR, people operations, or HR administration role
Exposure to HR compliance, employment contracts, and employee records
Knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR best practices
Experience supporting audits or compliance reviews will be advantageous

Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
