Job summary
A leading manufacturing firm in Malaysia is seeking a skilled machinist to set up and operate CNC Auto-lathe machines. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year experience in machining, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities include monitoring machine operations, conducting maintenance, and ensuring quality standards are met.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year experience in machining or CNC Auto-lathe operations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Basic knowledge of lathe operations.

Job description
Role
- Set up and operate CNCAuto‑lathe machines according to specifications and production yield
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality standards
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machining equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure adherence to specifications
- Collaborate with other machinists and engineers to improve processes and enhance production efficiency
- Follow safety procedures, workplace regulations, and keep the work area organized (5S principles)
- Document production activities and maintain accurate records of work performed according to the Company’s ISO 9001 requirements
- Mentor trainee machinists, provide guidance and training on best practices when required
Requirements
- Minimum SPM or equivalent with at least 1 year experience in machining or CNC Auto‑lathe operations
- Basic understanding of machining processes and lathe operations
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings
- Basic knowledge of G‑code programming and machine setup
- Experience in micro parts fabrication and precision measuring instruments such as toolmaker’s microscope, micrometres, etc. will be an added advantage
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Possess a proactive approach to learning
- Able to work together in a team‑oriented environment
- Able to work on rotating shifts to meet operational requirements
