Timely delivery of DHL packages around the globe in a way that ensures customer data are secure is in the core of what we do. This means that our solution design will need to cater for mission-critical and no downtime requirement from our Business. You will be leveraging on the best technology to provide solutioning for end-to-end connected systems. Sometimes, issues might get tricky and this is where cooperation with other IT teams and specialists will come into play.

You will be also ensuring that our solution’s architecture aligned and meet our high standards both during proposal and project stage. Once a project is approved, you will work closely with implementation team, to ensure that what was promised will be delivered as-one.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development teams to ensure adherence to architectural standards and best practices.
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, including cloud platforms, containerization, SaaS, PaaS etc.
• Design and implement secure APIs and database solutions, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Ensure compliance with Identity and Access Management principles, including LDAP, Single Sign-On (SSO), and OAuth.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our architectural practices and standards.

Competencies:

• Architectural Design & Implementation:

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect in high-volume transaction applications using N-Tier/3-Tier architectures.
• Strong understanding of SOA, Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, and Message-Oriented Integration.
• Ability to articulate and maintain architectural documentation (as-is and to-be), process flows, and data flows. (Experience with LeanIX is a plus).
• Proven experience in a Solution Architect role

• Technical Proficiency:

• Background in Object-Oriented Programming or Web Programming with the ability to apply SOLID architectural principles.
• Deep understanding of cloud technologies, containerization, LowCode/NoCode platforms, and workflow systems.
• Hands-on experience with APIs and diverse database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
• Ability to handle and process various data structures (CSV, XML, JSON).
• Understanding of Identity and Access Management principles (LDAP, SSO, OAuth).

• Domain Knowledge:

• Basic understanding of finance processes (pricing, invoicing, debit notes, credit notes) is a plus.

• Soft Skills:

• Self-Starter:Ability to work independently and proactively identify and solve problems.
• Ability to collaborate across different teams (Business, Business IT and IT Services)
• Great articulation ability with diagrams or presentation
• Learning Mind set.

• Analytical Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

As a Principal Architect, having at least 5 years of architecture knowledge in coming out with a strong end-to-end solutions is a huge plus. Very good knowledge of Enterprise Architecture will also be an integral part of this role. You would be interested to work on Enterprise Architecture initiatives and will be able to go both wide and deep across multiple architectural topics. You will be also helping to coordinate architecture forums and work across multiple domains within our logistic business. There are lot of opportunities to work cross-team with our talented people especially with architects.

You are a technology aficionado, therefore you have a good understanding of Cloud and Containerization. You are able to work independently, prioritize and organize your tasks under time and workload pressure. Working in a multinational environment, you can expect cross-region collaboration with teams around the globe, thus being advanced in spoken and written English will be certainly useful.

Hi, my name is Erick Chen and I’m a Head of Subdomain for Pickup, Delivery and Clearance domain within our IT Services (ITS) Express Solution business unit. I started my career at DHL IT Services back in 2018, when I took a role as Principal Architect in the DHL Express Network Operations domain. Gaining more hands-on experience with logistics business has always fascinated me, I was originally assigned to the Global Trade Services team as Architect. From there, I moved fast through the company ladder and soon landed a Team Manager role and eventually Head of Subdomain. My passion has always been in Architecture and even until today. Together with the strong support of a multinational & diverse team, we are working on our common ambition – technology. Looking forward to having talented team to onboard our great team!
