Job Summary

An Electrical Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment at construction, industrial, and project sites. This hands-on role supports engineers and supervisors by ensuring the safe and efficient execution of on-site electrical work in compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and local regulations.

Job Description
  1. Assist in implementing and monitoring preventive and corrective maintenance for electrical systems including HM, UPS, SCADA, E-Block, Reefer, Street Light, Building Lighting, SCTS, High Bay, etc., in accordance with maintenance schedules and report any irregularities. Ensure the availability and reliability of equipment.
  2. Work closely with engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure safety standards are adhered to throughout the department. Support coordination during inspections with management, consultants, or other stakeholders.
  3. Assist in analyzing reactive and proactive work progress data for continuous improvement.
  4. Assist in managing spare parts inventory for electrical-related areas.
  5. Participate in continuous in-house improvement activities.
  6. Be responsible for on-call duties, responding promptly to major breakdowns or emergencies.
  7. Record and report all findings related to unsafe systems and non-conformance issues to superiors.
  8. Ensure all work complies with local legislation such as the Electricity Supply Act 1990, Electricity Regulations 1994, EMEER 2008, OSHA, FMA, and PTP requirements.
  9. Perform any other duties as directed by superiors.
  10. Implement and uphold Information Security (IS) and IT policies to protect organizational information, assets, and intellectual property.
Requirements
  1. Possess a minimum certification of PW4, A0, Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  2. 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
  3. Strong electrical maintenance skills.
  4. Ability to handle electrical breakdowns and troubleshoot safely.
  5. Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  6. Proficiency in record keeping and MS Office applications.
  7. Good communication and writing skills in English and Malay.
  8. Ability to work effectively in a team.
