Job description

Purpose Statement

Responsibilities include the development of robust, capable, cost-effective & safe manufacturing processes, equipment, materials, and products. To support the efficient and effective transfer of new products & processes into commercial production.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Lead design, optimization, validation, and troubleshooting of product/process technologies.
  2. Develop/lead the execution of experimentation and testing to enable characterization, optimization, and troubleshooting of processes and equipment; summarize, analyze, and draw conclusions leading to effective technical resolution & communication to the wider technical community.
  3. Coordinate/direct the introduction of new processes, equipment, and materials including installation, calibration, EHS assessment, debug, and all associated process and quality system documentation requirements including technical and process work instructions.
  4. Lead/support continuous improvement activities through effective application of Six Sigma & Lean methodologies to assist in the characterization, optimization, troubleshooting, and development of efficient, cost-effective equipment and processes.
  5. Support the execution and documentation of validation builds, coordinate testing of validation units, and compile, analyze, and report on the validation results.
  6. Travel to other sites/vendors as part of technology development & transfer activities.
Job Requirements
  • Candidate must have at least a Diploma in mechanical, electrical, or electronic engineering.
  • Hands-on experience in the manufacturing industry, including practical skills in equipment troubleshooting. Experience in leading junior technicians and continuous improvement projects.
  • Skills required:
    • Technical skills capable of diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment.
    • Basic skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Knowledge of PLC / software debugging is an added advantage.
