The NPI DFM (Design for Manufacturing) Engineer at Motorola Solutions is a role focused on optimizing new products for efficient and cost-effective production. • Lead DFM Initiatives: Spearhead efforts to embed DFM principles into the new product introduction process, focusing on Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
• Supplier Development: Collaborate with and develop EMS to establish and maintain best-in-class manufacturing processes. This includes auditing their capabilities and guiding them to meet MSI's quality and productivity standards.
• Process Innovation: Continuously seek out and implement new manufacturing processes and technological breakthroughs to improve product quality, increase productivity, and reduce costs.
• Cost & Productivity Management: This role is pivotal in achieving the company's goals for productivity, timely delivery, and cost-efficiency. The engineer will be directly responsible for identifying and implementing cost‑saving measures without compromising on quality or performance.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Serve as a subject matter expert, working closely with design engineers, supply chain managers, and quality assurance teams to ensure a seamless transition from design to mass production.

• Expertise in DFM: Deep knowledge and practical experience in applying Design for Manufacturing (DFM). This includes a strong understanding of how design choices impact manufacturing complexity, cost, and quality
• Problem‑Solving Skills: The ability to identify potential manufacturing and assembly issues early in the design phase and propose innovative, practical solutions.
• Leadership and Influence: As a subject matter expert, the candidate must be able to influence cross‑functional teams and external suppliers to adopt best practices and drive process improvements.
