A leading healthcare institution in Malaysia seeks a qualified Radiographer to administer radiation treatment and ensure patient safety. Responsibilities include planning treatment courses, operating radiotherapy equipment, and monitoring patients during their treatment. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Radiography and excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. Planning a course of treatment with clinical oncologists and physicists, which can be complex and requires accuracy and care
Calculation and checking of Radiation dosimetry.
Treatment delivery according to the prescribed instructions.
Administering radiation treatment accurately and safely
Responsible for patient safety and well being during radiotherapy.
Explaining treatment and the processes used
Explaining the management of any likely radiotherapy side effects
Operating technical equipment confidently
Communicates effectively with health professional, patients and the public.
Developing a relationship with the patient and the patient's family
Seeking patient co-operation and trust and showing sensitivity
Provides patient care during treatment and maintain accurate treatment records.
Observing patients' responses to treatment, often on a daily basis
Evaluates and assesses treatment delivery components, daily physiologic and psychological responsiveness of patients and ensures quality care of patients undergoing radiotherapy treatment.
Responsible for tumor localization, patient follow up and patient education.
Daily quality assurance checking and machine maintenance.
Prepares certain patients’ statistic e.g. daily required statistic, monthly quality report
Ensures that all accessories are well arranged in the machine rooms (Linear accelerator and CT simulator).
Cleans used accessories as necessary before using for patients.
Reports any deficiencies and uncompleted work to the Head of department.
Promotes own knowledge, skills and abilities through participation in training activities.
Supervising and monitoring the work of junior radiographer and student radiographers and ward assistants
Involved in Safety & Quality Improvement activities and the monitoring of stock in the unit.
In reference to collating, reporting & analyzing data involved in performance improvement activities, the anatomy of patients and providers shall always be preserved.
