Overview

Coherent is a global leader in lasers, engineered materials and networking components. This role supports Employee Relations and Communications activities within the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for ERS, IR and communications.
  • Conduct personal and group counselling. Gauge the company's pulse.
  • Administer of disciplinary matters.
  • Conduct communications for Management, Exempt, Non Exempt IDL, all levels of Communication Events, Special Projects, Banners, Brochures, Video. Conduct for Employee Relations on Orientation Programs, Communication Centre, Disciplinary Procedure, Counseling, Grievance Handling, Newsletter, Suggestions, Employees’ Activities, Employees Attrition and Exit Interview.
  • Conduct investigation and inquiry on disciplinary and misconduct related matters.
  • Frame and execute charges to employees relating to misconduct, including show cause letters and charge letters pending Domestic Inquiry, and any letter concerning disciplinary issues. Act as counselor and liaise with employees to resolve issues where possible.
  • Attend, lead and liaise with employees regarding grievances. Perform any other duties as directed by the immediate superior from time to time.
  • Derive continual improvement. Practice risk-based thinking in planning and execution of tasks. Ensure compliance with ISO requirements, company rules & regulations, and applicable codes.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor Degree in Any Discipline
  • 5-8 years of similar experience/exposure in electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Well versed in Labour Laws, Employment Act 1955, Industrial Relations Act 1967, local industrial statutory requirements and prevailing Human Resource practices and legislation.
  • Candidates without appropriate experience may be considered by the hiring manager subject to job nature, availability of buddy, duration of learning, etc.
Skills
  • Good interpersonal and networking skills, creative, motivated, committed and able to work independently with high level of personal integrity, professionalism, diplomacy and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Trouble shooting and creative problem solving skills.
  • Meticulous.
