A leading data solutions provider in Malaysia is seeking a Channel Manager to oversee strategy planning and implementation for the home appliance market. This role involves leading the expansion of retail channels and establishing key partnerships to drive business growth. About the role
Oversee the overall channel strategy planning and implementation for the Malaysian home appliance market; lead the end‑to‑end expansion of home appliance chain retail channels and brand client channels; establish an integrated channel ecosystem encompassing “data acquisition – product sales – value‑added services.” Lead the team to drive channel scale growth, data resource accumulation, and business revenue targets, providing robust channel support for building the company’s core competitiveness in big data consulting services.
What you’ll be doing
Based on the company’s overall business objectives and market trends in Malaysia’s home appliance sector, develop mid‑to‑long‑term channel development strategies, annual channel expansion plans, and phased targets, while clarifying channel layout, core breakthrough directions, and resource allocation plans.
Conduct in‑depth research on the channel landscape, policy environment, competitive dynamics, and changes in customer demands within Malaysia’s home appliance industry; produce channel strategic insight reports; dynamically optimise channel strategies; and mitigate market risks.
Lead senior‑level negotiations and strategic cooperation signings with core home appliance chain retail channels (top‑tier chain stores, large‑scale dealer clusters) and high‑quality brand client channels; secure key channel resources; and establish a high‑value channel network.
Oversee the channel expansion team, decompose core KPIs including channel development, data collaboration, and product sales, guide the team to achieve targets, and identify potential channel cooperation opportunities (e.g., co‑promotion, customised data services).
Lead the in‑depth maintenance of channel customer relationships, conduct regular senior‑level communications with core channel partners, resolve critical collaboration issues, and enhance channel loyalty and renewal rates.
Monitor dynamics related to policies, market competition, and channel transformations in Malaysia’s home appliance industry, anticipate potential risks (e.g., channel partnership disruptions, data compliance risks), and develop and implement contingency plans.
What we’re looking for
Bachelor’s degree or above, with preference given to majors in Marketing, International Trade, Business Administration, and data‑related fields.
Proficient in core theories and practices including channel strategy planning, channel operation management, and business negotiations, with systematic strategic thinking and strong business analysis capabilities. Possess in‑depth knowledge of the home appliance industry chain (R&D, production, sales, after‑sales service), particularly the channel landscape, operation models, policies and regulations, and consumption trends of Malaysia’s local home appliance market.
Over 12 years of experience in marketing or channel management, including at least 5 years in home appliance industry channel management and more than 3 years of leadership experience at the same level (Channel Director / Regional Channel Head).
Possess accumulated channel resources in Malaysia’s home appliance market, with a proven track record of successfully leading strategic cooperation with top‑tier home appliance chain retail channels or major brand clients, and the ability to independently conduct senior‑level negotiations and complete contract signings.
Preference will be given to candidates with channel management experience in big data consulting or data service companies, or experience in data‑related business development within the home appliance industry.
Sharp strategic acumen and high business sensitivity, with the ability to accurately grasp market trends and channel opportunities, and drive business growth in a results‑oriented manner. Demonstrated strong stress tolerance, capable of adapting to a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking work environment and frequent travel requirements (domestic and international). Exceptional leadership, team cohesion, and cross‑departmental collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate internal and external resources to achieve objectives.
