Job summary
A prominent higher education institution in Ipoh, Perak, seeks a Graduate Research Assistant for a funded research project on rice growth under salinity stress. The role involves hands-on research, attending conferences, and training in advanced molecular techniques. Candidates should hold a Master's or Bachelor's degree in relevant fields with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 and possess strong English skills. A monthly allowance of RM 2,000+ is provided for 36 months. - The selected candidate will be appointed as a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) and must register as a full-time research-based Master/PhD student.
- Start Date: January 2026 onwards
- Location: School of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Integrated Life Sciences,
Quest International University (QIU), Ipoh, Perak

- Exposure to research across two academic institutions and one industry partner (QIU, UTAR, and Codon Genomics Sdn. Bhd.).
- Training in metagenomics and related advanced molecular techniques.
- Comprehensive supervision covering experimental design, thesis preparation, and manuscript writing for high-impact journals.
- A conducive, well-equipped laboratory environment to support research.
- A Master’s (MSc) or Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Agricultural Science, Agricultural Technology, or any related field with a minimum CGPA of 3.0.
- Goal-driven, persistent, and able to manage time effectively.
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong English proficiency in writing and speaking.
