Job description

We are seeking a technically skilled and proactive Project Engineer to manage both housing development and petrol station renovation projects. The role requires multidisciplinary coordination across civil, structural, M&E, and fueling systems, with an emphasis on green technology, cost optimization, and integration of digital building management systems.


The engineer will work closely with consultants , contractors, and management to deliver projects that meet performance, quality, and sustainability targets.

Key Responsibilities


  • Coordinate and supervise all on-site construction activities across civil, structural, M&E, and fueling system scopes.

  • Review and interpret technical drawings, construction documents, and consultant inputs.

  • Propose cost optimization and value engineering solutions to achieve efficiency without compromising quality.

  • Plan, schedule, and monitor project progress; manage resources and timelines.

  • Support the implementation of Building Management Systems (BMS) during construction and commissioning phases.

  • Oversee testing and commissioning (T&C) for M&E and fuel systems.

  • Integrate green building technologies such as energy-efficient design, water management, and low-carbon materials.

  • Liaise with consultants, contractors, and authorities to ensure compliance with design and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide professional technical advice and feedback based on company objectives.

  • Prepare site reports, progress updates, and project documentation.

  • Ensure safety compliance and risk control on-site.


Requirements


  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural (Degree preferred).

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in construction, mixed development, or fuel system projects.


Technical Skills


  • Familiar with project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).

  • Experience in BIM, construction monitoring systems, or Building Management System (BMS) integration.

  • Strong understanding of local regulatory standards (CIDB, DOSH, ST, Bomba, DOE).

  • Knowledge in cost analysis, value engineering, and procurement.


Certifications (preferred/required)


  • BEM Registered Engineer (Graduate or Professional) – preferred.

  • GreenRE or GBI Accredited Professional – advantage.

  • Safety Management (e.g. SHO, NEBOSH) – advantage.


Soft Skills


  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with a focus on cost efficiency and sustainability.

  • Good leadership, communication, and coordination skills.

  • Able to work independently and manage multiple work packages concurrently.


Languages


  • English and Bahasa Malaysia required.

  • Mandarin is an advantage for dealing with suppliers and consultants.
