Job Title: Senior Piping Engineer

Overview:

A new opportunity is available for a Senior Piping Engineer to join a major offshore engineering project in Kuala Lumpur. You will play a critical role in piping design and stress analysis, working independently on high-spec oil and gas developments, including fabrication, transport, and offshore installation phases.

This role is ideal for someone who brings technical depth, hands-on project experience, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret project-specific requirements, regulatory guidelines, classification rules, and industry codes to develop compliant piping deliverables.
• Prepare specifications for piping support and stress analysis, adapting corporate templates to meet project conditions.
• Perform piping stress analysis for critical systems (e.g., cargo offloading, seawater lift pumps, firewater systems) and support layout coordination.
• Evaluate piping isometrics and stress-critical lines to verify support placement, type, and adequacy.
• Coordinate with engineering contractors to implement flexibility analysis findings in piping support design.
• Review contractor documentation and layout drawings to ensure consistency and engineering compliance.
• Provide technical advice to site teams during construction and commissioning, including off-site support as needed.
• Verify piping support installation at construction sites, ensuring compliance with design and resolving field queries.
• Support the lead engineer in capturing lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement processes.
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and ethical standards in all work activities.

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a Diploma with equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in piping engineering within the oil and gas sector.
• Diploma holders: 15+ years
• Bachelor's degree holders: 12+ years
• Master's degree holders: 10+ years
• Strong track record in offshore or FPSO piping design, including construction and commissioning support.
• Capable of handling technical matters independently while maintaining quality and project timelines.
• Proficient in piping tools and software including CAESAR-II, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and MS Office.
• Able to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders including construction, QA/QC, and HSE.
