Sales Manager / Senior Sales Engineer (HVAC - Overseas Market)
Mills Recruitment is partnering with a China-based HVAC engineering group expanding its business in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. We are seeking a Sales Manager / Senior Sales Engineer to drive overseas sales growth, build key client relationships, and support the full lifecycle of international HVAC engineering projects.
This role requires a strong technical foundation in HVAC systems, solid cross-cultural communication skills, and the ability to operate independently in global markets. Ideal for professionals seeking a long-term international career with a fast-growing organisation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Market Research
- Organize and lead in-depth market research within the assigned country or region.
- Prepare annual and mid-to-long-term market development strategies.
Client Development
- Identify and target key overseas clients, organize routine visits, and conduct technical exchange sessions.
- Drive client acquisition efforts and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Establish, manage, and regularly update client information databases.
Project Planning
- Develop and maintain the business opportunity pipeline for independently sourced or company-led international projects.
- Report project development progress and create coordinated development plans for key projects.
Contract Negotiation
- Collaborate with the Business Management Department to support project bidding activities.
- Participate in commercial negotiations for overseas projects.
- Coordinate contract reviews, negotiation processes, and final contract signing.
Project Execution
- Support communication and relationship management with clients during international project execution.
- Assist project execution teams in handling project operations and managing post project payment collection.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in HVAC, refrigeration, or building environmental engineering
- Solid technical understanding of HVAC, refrigeration, and building environment systems
- Familiar with central air-conditioning system design and equipment performance
- Proficient in CAD; capable of technical discussions with clients
- Knowledge of company business models, product lines, and industry operations; able to deliver presentations
- Strong understanding of international market trends, regulations, and competitive environments
- Excellent cross-cultural communication, business negotiation, and client relationship management
- English and Mandarin speaking proficiency is essential to effectively communicate with clients/stakeholders.
- Familiar with full lifecycle of overseas engineering project management
- Willing to undertake overseas assignments/rotations
- Able to mentor at least one apprentice
- Proven ability to independently achieve sales targets
