As an experienced data engineer, you will take on challenging projects that drive the evolution of our data platform, including complex dataset assembly, data warehousing, and other advanced initiatives.

The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures to support data analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives. This role bridges the gap between data collection, storage, and analysis — ensuring that data flows smoothly and efficiently across the organization.

The role is based in our Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia office. In case of relocation, we offer full relocation support for you and your family to make your move smooth and worry-free.

What you'll actually do
  • Assemble large, complex datasets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements (business cases)
  • Prepare datasets from various sources by request
  • Take care of data warehousing as a process
  • Implement and support data model changes
  • Develop new integrations and data marts
  • Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality
  • Describe entities and lineage in our data catalog
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain LLM-based services and tools
Who we’re looking for
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Relevant certifications (optional but beneficial)
  • 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering
  • Deep knowledge of primary DWH design methodologies
  • Experience with column and MPP databases like Vertica, ClickHouse and similar
  • Experience with relational database PostgreSQL, Oracle and similar
  • Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or Prefect
  • Solid skills in Python and understanding of the object-oriented programming paradigm.
  • Experience with Big Data Processing & Data Lakes is a plus
  • Experience deploying Large Language Models (LLMs) in production environments is a strong advantage
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to use advanced English for different work and business purposes
  • Capacity for critical thinking and attention to detail
  • Decision-making skills and the ability to adapt to new changes
  • Ability to write concise and clear documentation
  • Capability of dealing with constructive criticism and knowing how to develop relationships with the team to achieve common goals
