Youth Staff Assistant
Job summary
A cruise line operator is seeking Youth Staff to assist in organizing activities for children onboard. The role requires experience with youth, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work flexible hours. Candidates must have a high school diploma and pass background checks. Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children in a recreational or educational setting.
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Youth Staff Team in planning and organizing daily activities for children.
- Engage with children ensuring their safety at all times.
- Create a welcoming environment for all young guests.

Education
- Assist the Youth Staff Team in planning and organizing daily activities, games, and events for children and teenagersonboard the cruise ship
- Engage with children and teenagers in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all young guests, regardless of age, gender, or cultural background
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of youth programs and activities
- Maintain a clean and organized youth area, including toys, games, and equipment
- Monitor and report any safety hazards or concerns to the Youth Staff Manager
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's participation in youth activities
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as attendance records and inventory management
- Attend mandatory training sessions and meetings as required by the company
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children in a recreational or educational setting
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
