About the Role
We are a growing manufacturing group seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Account Manager to oversee the company’s full‑spectrum accounting and financial operations. The role involves managing daily accounting transactions, ensuring compliance with Malaysian accounting standards and tax laws, leading a small finance team, and supporting management with financial insights and decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee the entire accounting cycle, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), and inventory accounting.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements in compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
- Review journal entries, bank reconciliations, and all supporting documentation.
- Maintain the fixed‑asset register and depreciation schedule.
- Ensure accurate posting and reporting using UBS Accounting Software.
2. Management Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and review management reports such as Profit & Loss, Cash Flow, and Variance Analysis.
- Conduct cost and margin analysis for manufacturing activities (materials, labour, overheads).
- Support top management in financial planning, strategy formulation, and decision‑making.
- Monitor financial KPIs, budget performance, and project profitability.
3. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budget preparation and rolling forecast process.
- Analyse budget versus actual results, identify key variances, and provide recommendations.
- Assist management in cash‑flow projections and capital planning.
4. Payroll & Statutory Compliance
- Supervise payroll processing, including statutory deductions (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB) and monthly submissions.
- Ensure compliance with LHDN, KWSP, PERKESO, HRDF, and other government authorities.
- Prepare annual forms (EA, CP8D) and related payroll documentation.
5. Taxation & Audit
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and government officers for annual audit and tax matters.
- Prepare and review tax computations, SST submissions, and withholding tax where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with Malaysia’s Income Tax Act, Customs Act, and SST regulations.
- Maintain proper documentation and schedules for audit and tax reference.
6. E‑Invoicing Management
- Maintain daily E‑Invoicing operations under the LHDN e‑Invoice system (post‑implementation).
- Handle validation, submission, and resolution of invoice errors through the IRBM portal.
- Perform daily reconciliation between UBS system records, IRBM portal, and internal ledgers.
- Ensure continuous compliance with LHDN guidelines and reporting standards.
7. Costing & Inventory Control
- Implement and maintain cost accounting procedures suited for manufacturing.
- Analyse material usage, wastage, and production variance reports.
- Monitor stock valuation and coordinate periodic inventory reconciliations.
- Work closely with the production and procurement teams to improve cost efficiency.
8. Internal Control & Process Improvement
- Develop and maintain internal control procedures and accounting SOPs.
- Streamline processes for better accuracy, transparency, and timeliness.
- Safeguard company assets and ensure proper authorization for all transactions.
9. Team Leadership
- Supervise, train, and evaluate accounting staff.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure timely completion of all deliverables.
- Foster a high‑performance, accountable, and cooperative team culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in UBS Accounting Software (required).
- Experience in maintaining E‑Invoicing (LHDN) system operations.
- Good knowledge of MFRS, SST, and Malaysian accounting standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with reporting & analysis tools.
- Strong communication skills in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin (required for liaison with Mandarin‑speaking clients/vendors).
- Detail‑oriented, analytical, and able to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Leadership and team‑management experience preferred.
