Job summary
A transportation company is seeking a Locomotive Driver in Kuala Lumpur. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience and must be proficient in German at a B1 level. Responsibilities include conducting pre-operation checks, operating locomotives, and providing customer service. The role demands strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols. A valid driver's license and operational certifications are required. This position emphasizes safety and efficiency in train operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Locomotive Driver.
- Valid driver’s license and relevant operational certifications.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre‑operation checks on traction units.
- Operate locomotives during train, shunting, and special operations.
- Provide customer service during operations.
Skills
- Conduct pre‑operation checks on traction units, including safety equipment and documentation
- Verify completeness and validity of required documents and train data
- Perform brake tests and ensure all systems are operational prior to departure
- Operate locomotives during train, shunting, and special operations in accordance with regulatory standards
- Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues in line with instructions
- Carry out routine vehicle inspections and report any defects or damages
- Assist in securing cargo and managing coupling/uncoupling procedures
- Perform shunting line operations and prepare for locomotive train journeys
- Provide customer service during operations and support passenger or freight handling as needed
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Locomotive Driver
- Proficiency in German (written and spoken) at a minimum B1 level, supported by official certification or diploma
- Valid driver’s license and relevant operational certifications
- Strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and ability to work under pressure
