Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Supply Chain Coordinator in Malaysia to assist with the daily operations and management of the Supply Chain Department. The role requires comprehensive knowledge of all supply chain functions and the ability to cover for various positions as needed. Responsibilities include supporting production scheduling, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with departmental workflows. Ideal candidates will have a proactive approach to logistics and operational cost control.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Planning Manager in daily operations and management of the Supply Chain Department.
  • Support execution of departmental objectives and monitor implementation progress.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain functions, ready to cover for absent positions.
  • Assist buyers with MRP runs and manage supplier relationships.
  • Support planner in production scheduling for timely completion of production plans.
  • Assist customer service in order review and delivery communications.
  • Support shippers in shipment execution and customs clearance documents preparation.
  • Monitor compliance with departmental workflows and oversee daily operations.
  • Maintain proficiency in management systems and support audits.
  • Implement cost control measures for logistics and procurement.
  • Optimize inventory levels and control slow-moving materials.
  • Consolidate KPI data and propose improvements.
  • Coordinate internal/external collaboration and handle exceptions.
  • Complete tasks assigned by leadership.
  • Ensure requirements of RBA and Supplier Code of Conduct are met.
Job description
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Planning Manager in the daily operations and management of the Supply Chain Department.
  • Support the Planning Manager in executing departmental objectives and work plans, while monitoring the implementation progress.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of all supply chain functions; readily cover duties for absent/vacant positions in customer service, planning, buyer, or shipper.
  • Assist buyer with MRP runs, issue PO to suppliers, follow up on material delivery dates, and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Support planner in production scheduling to ensure on-time completion of production plans.
  • Assist customer service in order review, communicate delivery timelines to customers, and maintain customer relationships.
  • Support shippers with shipment execution, prepare customs clearance documents, complete customs registration, generate system invoices, and arrange logistics transportation.
  • Monitor compliance with departmental workflows, systems, and policies; oversee daily operations across customer service, planning, procurement, and logistics.
  • Maintain proficiency in departmental management systems, environmental/quality documentation, and support internal/external audits.
  • Implement effective cost control measures to reduce logistics, procurement, and operational expenses.
  • Optimize inventory levels, actively participate in controlling/disposing of obsolete/slow-moving materials to minimize stock and costs.
  • Consolidate KPI data, analyse root causes for underperformance, propose improvements, and drive implementation.
  • Coordinate internal/external collaboration, handle exceptions, and foster conducive operational environments.
  • Complete other tasks assigned by leadership.
  • To ensure RBA, Supplier Code of Conducts requirements are being met.
