Locomotive Driver

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑operation checks on traction units, including safety equipment and documentation
• Verify completeness and validity of required documents and train data
• Perform brake tests and ensure all systems are operational prior to departure
• Operate locomotives during train, shunting, and special operations in accordance with regulatory standards
• Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues in line with instructions
• Carry out routine vehicle inspections and report any defects or damages
• Assist in securing cargo and managing coupling/uncoupling procedures
• Perform shunting line operations and prepare for locomotive train journeys
• Provide customer service during operations and support passenger or freight handling as needed

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Locomotive Driver
• Proficiency in German (written and spoken) at a minimum B1 level, supported by official certification or diploma
• Valid driver’s license and relevant operational certifications
