Job summary
A financial services company in Malaysia is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who will oversee all financial operations, including financial planning, cash flow management, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a recognized accounting degree, CPA certification, and at least 5 years of relevant finance experience in senior roles. Strong leadership and analytical skills are essential. This role plays a critical part in advising the CEO and board on financial matters and ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.

Education
Chief Financial Officer (CFO) responsible for managing the company's financial operations and strategies. CFO oversees financial planning, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial reporting, ensuring the company's financial health and alignment with its strategic goals. The CFO also plays a key role in risk management and advising the CEO and board on financial matters.
- Developing and implementing financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Ensuring sufficient cash flow to meet the company's obligations and investment needs; identifying and mitigating financial risks.
- Managing the allocation of funds for long-term investments.
- Oversees procurement functions of the company and ensures all purchasing policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Works with internal and external parties, i.e.: bankers, auditors, tax agents and company secretaries, on all statutory and tax requirements.
- Ensures timely preparation of the monthly management reports and submission of financial reports to the management team.
- Ensures compliance to statutory requirements, such as Financial Reporting and Regulations, Income Tax Acts, Companies Acts, E-Invoicing, Service Sales Tax areas, and that all regulatory reporting requirements are met on a timely basis.
- Ensures that billings are issued on a timely basis and manages collection and follow-up on outstanding debts.
- A recognized degree and/or professional accounting qualification in certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) that can demonstrate expertise and commitment to the profession.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in accounting.
- Extensive experience in finance, often in progressively senior roles, is essential; this experience should include managing people, processes, and financial operations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills are highly appreciated.
- Able to lead and motivate teams, provide strategic direction, and effectively communicate financial information.
