The Role:

• Build and maintain Java applications, managing Java/Java EE development throughout the software lifecycle, from concept to testing.
• Collaborate on problem solving, translating business requirements into technical designs and ensuring product quality.
• Participate in all phases of development.
• Develop high-volume, low-latency applications with high availability and performance.
• Translate application designs and use cases into functional applications.
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, proposing solutions.
• Prepare and release software components.
• Proficient in Java with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Experience with concurrency, automated testing, and performance tuning.
• Support testing phases and evaluate defect reports.
• Develop documentation for requirements and solutions.
• Possess front-end development skills and stay updated on industry trends, including regulatory compliance and emerging threats.

The Person:

• University degree in a relevant discipline; IT or insurance industry certifications (e.g., LOMA) are a plus.
• 5-8 years of application development experience.
• Knowledge of life insurance domain and packaged insurance products is desirable.
• Experience with RESTful web services, automation testing, and performance tuning is advantageous.
• Familiar with web and application servers like Apache, JBoss, Weblogic, Oracle, Spring, and databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.
• Experience in mobile development is a plus.
• High integrity, accountability, proactive, and adaptable to change.
