A leading data infrastructure company in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Project Engineer to support design, implementation, and management of data centre facilities. Responsibilities include executing construction activities, assisting in system design, maintaining project documentation, and ensuring compliance with standards. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s in Engineering and relevant experience in similar projects. Strong communication skills and proficiency in engineering software are essential for this role.
As a Project Engineer within our Data Centre Infrastructure team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the design, implementation, and management of our mission‑critical data centre facilities. You will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to ensure the seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, civil & structural, and building management systems (BMS). Your contributions will be essential in maintaining the highest standards of reliability, efficiency, and operational excellence for our data centre facilities.
Support the execution of construction and installation activities related to M&E, civil & structural, and BMS systems, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
Assist in the coordination of contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders during the construction and commissioning phases.
Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and identify potential issues or deviations from plans.
Assist senior engineers in the development of M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) systems, civil & structural components, and BMS strategies for new and existing data centre projects.
Collaborate with the design team to review and refine technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Contribute to the selection of appropriate equipment, materials, and technologies to meet project requirements.
Maintain accurate records of project activities, including design changes, equipment specifications, and installation progress.
Generate technical reports, project documentation, and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
Assist in preparing project status reports and presentations for management review.
Ensure that all aspects of the data centre infrastructure meet industry standards, codes, and regulations.
Collaborate with quality control teams to perform inspections and tests to verify system functionality and compliance.
Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices to enhance the reliability and performance of data centre facilities.
Participate in diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to M&E systems, civil & structural components, and BMS systems.
Support maintenance activities and preventive maintenance schedules to ensure the ongoing operational integrity of the data centre.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to data centre infrastructure.
Engage in continuous learning and skill development to enhance your technical knowledge and contribute effectively to projects.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
0‑2 years of relevant experience in data centre projects, construction, or infrastructure engineering. Fresh graduates with CGPA 3.5 and above are highly encouraged to apply.
Familiarity with M&E systems, civil & structural engineering principles, and building management systems (BMS).
Proficiency in using engineering software and tools for design and analysis, such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, etc.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
Detail‑oriented mindset with the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Basic understanding of project management concepts and methodologies.
Enthusiasm for learning and contributing to the growth of the team and organization.
