The Dental Technologist will be responsible for fabricating, repairing, and modifying a wide range of dental prostheses and appliances in accordance with prescriptions and specifications provided by dentists. The role requires precision, strong technical skills, and a commitment to safety and quality standards in the dental laboratory.

• Interpret prescriptions, models, and dental impressions to determine the design of dental products.
• Fabricate, alter, and repair dental devices such as dentures, crowns, bridges, inlays, and orthodontic appliances.
• Test appliances for accuracy and conformance using articulators, micrometers and other tools.
• Create models of patients’ mouths by pouring and setting plaster into dental impressions.
• Melt, cast, and process materials such as metals, plaster, porcelain, and acrylic to produce prostheses.
• Build and shape wax models and apply porcelain or wax over frameworks as required.
• Polish, finish, and adjust dental prostheses to ensure functionality and aesthetic quality.
• Repair, reline, or replace damaged parts of dental devices such as wires, linings, or missing teeth.
• Prepare impression trays, wax bite-blocks, and other supporting devices for clinical use.
• Operate porcelain furnaces and other lab equipment to complete prosthesis construction.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant laboratory environment in accordance with safety standards.
• Train and supervise other students and trainees.

• Qualification: Diploma or Certificate in Dental Technology.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years working in a dental laboratory (fresh graduates with strong skills may also be considered).
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of dental appliances and laboratory procedures.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM dental systems is an added advantage.
• Soft Skills:
  • Good communication skills in English and/or Malay.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
