LAHAB DEFENCE SYSTEMS (LDS) focuses on design, development, and production of medium and large calibre munitions and weapons systems.

1. The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) officer acts as a liaison for all industrial projects across LAHAB, ensuring project designs incorporate HSE guidelines and safety regulations. Responsibilities include hazard assessments, industrial hygiene monitoring, facility reviews, process hazard analysis, incident investigations, and preventive measures.
2. Develop, implement, and promote compliance with standard HSE policies, procedures, programs, and guidelines.
3. Conduct regular HSE audits and inspections; prepare detailed reports and implement corrective actions.
4. Design and implement emergency response plans, guidelines, and operating procedures.
5. Perform Risk Assessments to evaluate hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
6. Coordinate with TIP to review and approve gate pass applications for chemicals or hazardous materials.
7. Manage FANR documentation and import permits.
8. Collaborate with TIP HSE regarding incidents or issues.
9. Lead investigations into events and injuries, determining root causes and proposing solutions.
10. Review and approve project method statements and HSE deliverables.
11. Work with project managers to prepare safety plans and control hazards and risks.
12. Monitor project safety schedules to ensure compliance with requirements.
13. Develop and deliver HSE training for employees.
14. Implement Permit-to-Work systems, including confined space entry, JSA/JHA, and hot work permits.
15. Create waste management programs and maintain good housekeeping practices, reporting to authorities as required.

• Minimum 10+ years in HSE management and safety engineering.
• Preferred: 2+ years in an HSE role within manufacturing, oil & gas, or defense industries with regional exposure.
• Professional diploma or certification in Occupational HSE/Process Safety/Risk Management.
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
• NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA certification or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of local HSE laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
