Job Description

To oversee entire operations of the nursery including but not limited to managing production, maintenance and sale of wide range of native and adaptive plants / trees; managing the equipment and ensuring efficient use of all machines and tools; lead operations team and ensure maximum productivity; support sales and marketing activities

• Human Resources - Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to staff engaged in the operations department and maintain high productivity level.
• Production - work with all internal and external departments ensuring production and shipments are made on time, as promised; accepting full responsibility.
• Sales and Marketing - establishing costing sheet for the inventory
• Relationship Building - develop and maintain relationships, alliances, and partnerships with suppliers of raw material and the industry in general.
• Trends - become knowledgeable and remain current with industry news and product trends regionally and globally.
• Policies and Procedures - ensure compliance with company's internal as well as regulatory policies
• Budgeting - be aware of budgets pertaining to operations aspect and ensure compliance.
• Reporting - Inventory quantity, production, operational losses such as mortality etc., equipment condition etc.
• Safety & Quality - Understand the related standards at Operations level and ensure their implementation.
• Maximize productivity and efficiency of Operations unit.
• Support sales and marketing teams to achieve quick turnover
• Increased staff satisfaction through empowerment, engagement and retention.

Desired Candidate Profile

• B. Sc, Agricultural Engineering (Horticulture) or related degree.
• Advance computer literacy including MS Office suite.
• Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
• 7-10 years of nursery or related industry experience.
• Ability to operations through multitasking
• Relationship builder; able to rally the team and provide positive motivation and guidance.
• Demonstrate leadership to inspire; increase staff engagement, development, and empowerment.
