Our Main Contracting client has a new requirement for a well experienced Safety Officer to join their team in Dubai at a new mid rise residential project in the Emirate. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Safety Officer on major mid & high rise projects in the UAE and have worked in the capacity of Safety Officer for a Main or Civil Contracting company previously. This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 6 month contract as an outsource employed by J10 Consulting. Key Responsibilities: • Assist in the implementation of QHSE procedures, policies and standards that form the Company QHSE Management System, including review and possible revision • Attending QHSE Meetings as per Clients’ and QHSE Management System requirements. • Assist relevant personnel in development/implementation of documented processes (where a need is identified). • Assist in the development revision of Risk Assessments and COSHH assessments, wherever necessary. • Assisting Head of QHSE to evaluate QHSE performances such as (inspections, incident, trainings, working hours etc.) and reporting to the Top Management and/or to any other relevant interested party. • Conduct periodic PTW Audits & accommodation inspection. • Follow up the actions for identified discrepancies. • Assist in completing the emergency drills / exercises as per the approved Emergency Exercise Drill plan • Daily checks on workshops, plants and work / construction sites to ensure compliance with safety requirements. • Carry out QHSE refresher inductions for all the on-site personnel & Visitor induction for all the contractors & visitors visiting the project site
• Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering or related preferred • Minimum of NEBOSH IGC certification • 5+ years of OSH management experience in Tier 1 contractors with building and preferably structural installation expertise • Ability to manage assigned areas and responsibilities. • Strong team player with flexibility in work timings and allocations • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
