R01145147 Advanced Application Engineer (m/f/*)

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As an Advanced Application Engineer at Personal Safety Division in South Africa , you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

Here, you will make an impact by:

• Providing technical support and services to 3M customers like e.g. Mining, Heavy Metals, and Transportation within assigned projects and by utilizing appropriate methods, practices, and concepts. Delivering insights on customer needs and collaborating on new solution development.
• Conducting product trainings and demonstrations to our channel partners, end users and 3M employees.
• Building a working knowledge of key corporate initiatives.
• Aligning the activities and focus with the business team goals in order to achieve and contribute to the annual business goals.
• Communicating results of assigned and self-initiated technical tasks on timely manner.
• Preparing reports, presentations, and other written documents.
• Collaborating with employees from different functions such as sales, marketing, and other application engineers to facilitate the completion of assignments.

• Promotingfamiliarity with SAPEMA (Southern African Protective Equipment Marketing Association), and 3M’s 15% culture, and participating in technical committees and corporate initiatives.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical or health & safety engineering.
• Proven track of experience in safety industrial and/or manufacturing engineering company.
• International NEBOSH General or Diploma Certificates would be an assett.
• Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certificate is preferred.

Additional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Usage of Microsoft office Applications.
• Salesforce program familiarity with.
• In addition to English language a multilanguage speaker is preferred.

Job specifics:

• Location: Johannesburg – South Africa (Hybrid Eligible)
• Travel: May include up to 15 %
• Relocation:Not authorized
• Full-time
