Introduction

We are looking for a Legal Advisor that must possess experience in corporate, commercial, or regulatory law, gained as in-house counsel, within a law firm, or through a combination of both.

The incumbent will be responsible for the daily operations of the legal function and ensuring organisational compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Contract Management: Draft, review, and renew contracts and legal correspondence. Maintain and manage original contracts. Register and record all contracts. Utilise and maintain the Legal Management System.
  2. Disputes and Liability Management: Manage all disputes, settlement claims, and litigation, and attend court hearings. Conduct contingent liability evaluations and reporting. Oversee all disputes and litigation matters to protect the interest of the client. Assess and report on contingent liabilities to support financial planning and budgeting. Attend CCMA proceedings.
  3. Compliance: Conduct annual organisational risk assessments. Facilitate quarterly compliance meetings with leadership.
  4. Administration: Perform legal administration and process legal‑related invoices. Provide general legal advice and attend to legal queries. Draft competition terms and conditions. Maintain accurate records and filing systems. Manage and liaise with external legal counsel.
  5. Reporting and Training: Prepare and submit regular reports. Facilitate Jeong Do compliance training for all employees. Provide legal and legislative training to staff when required. Oversee the full compliance function of the organisation.
Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum of an LLB Degree. 3–5 years' experience within the legal sector. Comprehensive understanding of applicable Acts and Regulations. Solid knowledge of commercial law and litigation. Experience in logistics and labour law will be advantageous.
