Job summary

Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for you. The main function of this role is to assist the Payroll Manager in ensuring the highest level of internal control and the accurate, timely processing of payroll.

Responsibilities
  • Payroll Processing : Assist in the end-to-end processing of the company payroll.
  • System Management : Assist in Managing and updating the payroll system (SAGE People) and the HRPM clocking system, including clearing exceptions and importing data.
  • Compliance & Reporting : Ensuring compliance with payroll laws and complete SARS interim and year-end submissions.
  • Record Keeping : Maintaining and updating payroll records, reports, and employee files.
  • Employee Support : Addressing and resolving payroll-related inquiries from employees professionally and confidentially.
  • Audits & Reconciliations : Conducting regular payroll audits and reconciliations to resolve discrepancies.
  • HR Administration : Processing new employees, terminations, leave, union payments, and UIF documentation.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • A Payroll, HR Qualification, or related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a Payroll Administration role.
  • Non-negotiable requirement : At least 2 years' hands-on experience using SAGE People payroll software.
  • Sound knowledge of South African payroll tax regulations and statutory requirements (e.g., UIF, SARS submissions).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Must be based in Cape Town and able to work from our client's office in Khayelitsha.

Package & Remuneration
