Ivanhoe is focused on developing and expanding its four principal mining and exploration projects in Southern Africa.

The development of the Kamoa‑Kakula copper mining complex in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the Platreef palladium‑rhodium‑platinum‑nickel‑copper‑gold discovery in South Africa, the extensive redevelopment and upgrading of the historic Kipushi zinc‑copper‑Germanium‑silver mine, also in the DRC and exploration on the Western Foreland, near Kamoa‑Kakula.

To manage, optimise and coordinate IVANHOE's payroll (for nationals and expatriates), ensuring compliance with laws, policy and tax obligations.

The Payroll Manager leads a team of specialists looking after the payroll function in SA, UK, Canada (and to a lesser extent the DRC), manages payroll audits, facilitates optimal system (Sage) implementation, and supervises and coordinates the payroll administration, processing and reporting functions.

The incumbent establishes the labour budget, oversees the termination process and collaborates extensively with HR, Finance and Legal teams to drive optimisation and alignment.

Requirements
  • BCom Degree
  • Minimum 10 years' experience, 5 of which must be in a middle management role.
  • Experience with managing multinational payroll in the mining industry
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
  • Ability to handle pressure, interact with Executives and negotiate with Unions

  • Enable Payroll Strategy implementation
  • Drive the accuracy and integrity of the Ivanhoe Payroll process
