Human Resources Manager – Contract Position – Maternity Cover

Kerston Foods, a well-established Food Services company is looking to fill the following position:

Human Resources Manager – Contract Position – Maternity Cover

To take responsibility for all HR support, services and related duties.

Key Performance Areas (KPA’s)
  • Recruitment / Selection / Placement Services (jobs specs, recruitment sources, screening processes, and final decision support)
  • Induction, Onboarding & Probation Management Support Services (processes of induction and onboarding, and subsequent probation management support)
  • Employment, Payroll & Related Administration Services (assist in the preparation of the monthly payroll, integrated with finance, and ensure all systems, data base and process compliance factors are met, as well as related employment administrative duties – e.g. OID)
  • Staff & Industrial Relations (drive the development of a coherent system of managing relationships including formal Growth & Development processes, ensure statutory compliance and support these processes)
  • Policies & Procedures Support Services (to maintain the HR P&Ps, and coordinate the central shared files of P&Ps for all other functions, ensuring compliance to format and current procedure)
  • Performance management facilitation services (to coordinate the development / refinement of the performance management practices and its outcomes)
  • HR Analysis, Information, Reports, Advice (to inform HR decision making through meaningful agreed information, analyses, evaluations and reports)
  • Administration Services (to provide admin and related services ranging from meetings coordination, guiding and coordinating representative teams in areas such as EE, BEE, Health & Safety, and Skills Development, EXCO meetings and related support, updating forms and templates, assisting in bottlenecks within shared services)
  • Development Support Services (facilitating development needs analysis and subsequent development support)
  • Annual HR Plans & Schedules (plans based on HR analysis and key agreed development areas)
  • Organisation Development (structures, job-descriptions, and related support and guidance)
  • Projects Coordination Services (to coordinate KF projects to ensure consistency of project management)

The ideal candidate should be proactive, energetic, with a can‑do attitude, be resilient under pressure and be independently motivated to achieve high standards of professionalism.

Qualifications
  • A 3-year formal Human Resources or related qualification.
  • Advanced Computer Literacy with emphasis on MS Office and particularly Excel skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of the BCEA.
  • Working knowledge of labour legislation.
  • Minimum 5 years' work experience in Human Resources, of which 2 years should have been in an established HR function covering all aspects of professional HR management. A sound understanding of business principles and functions will be an advantage.
  • The current employment strength is 80.
