Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced senior geoscientist with extensive technical knowledge and leadership in subsurface, petroleum, and carbon dioxide resource exploration, development, and de-risking activities. This role involves formulating strategies to enhance resource attractiveness and support onshore oil and gas exploration, development revitalization, and Carbon Capture and Storage. The position is vital in supporting SRM efforts to maximize value from onshore exploration and development activities, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and Petroleum Contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and approve technical submissions for exploration, development, and abandonment activities.
• Collaborate with Subsurface and Development teams to develop resource strategies and de-risking plans.
• Advise on resource enrichment programs, stranded asset development, and innovative infrastructure concepts.
• Provide guidance on onshore resource activities aligned with the Sarawak Gas Roadmap and energy security goals.
• Lead block promotion strategies, including prospectivity evaluation, data room preparation, and investor engagement.
• Participate in bid evaluations and contribute technical insights for licensing and investment decisions.
• Work with cross-functional and external teams to ensure smooth operations, technical support, and resolution of infrastructure issues while managing stakeholder expectations.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geoscience/Earth Sciences or related field with at least 12 years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on subsurface technical and operational experience of 10-12 years.
• Proven expertise in analyzing geological and geophysical data.
• Leadership experience in managing projects with diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of geological and geophysical software applications.
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on improving systems, processes, and procedures.
• Fluency in spoken and written English, with good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in exploration and development project management is advantageous.
