Department Overview: Rapid Prototyping lab activities focus on physical realization technologies and associated engineering services to create high-quality prototypes and samples. Fabricate and assemble materials and components using various types of machinery and hand tools, including 3D Printing, CNC Machining, Silicon Rubber Molding, Laser Engraving, Sanding, Bung, Sewing, and Modelmaking. Our goal is to provide a substantial competitive advantage for Motorola Solutions by helping to ensure on-time testing and evaluation of new products and rapid resolution of current product issues.
Responsibilities:
• Assist Prototyping Lab in all creation phases, from sample construction, and assembly to product
• Creation of physical prototypes through Vacuum Casting/Silicone Rubber Mold, CNC Machining, Model Making & etc
• Independently handles all phases of Vacuum casting, from mold making, resin handling, casting, curing, finishing, and quality inspection
• Hands-on CNC machining from 3D CAD, CAM programming, and machine setup to the f inished part
• Perform minor maintenance and troubleshoot errors with mechanical equipment.
Requirements:
• Diploma or higher in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (e.g., Model Making, CNC CAD/CAM) experience required
• Minimum 2 years experience in CNC milling machine and Vacuum Casting, as well as experience in consumer products
• Strong familiarity and proficiency with PTC Creo 3D Parametric, Creo Parametric Manufacturing for CNC, and other 2D/3D CAD will be an advantage
• Able to work independently to meet targets
• Must have strong attention to detail
• Experience working in a Prototyping Lab environment using various tools and machinery
• Must provide a link to your online portfolio or website showcasing relevant work samples for application consideration
