Job summary

A leading precision instrument company based in Selangor is seeking a technical support and sales advisor to engage with customers and provide pre/post-sales technical solutions. The role requires a Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, understanding of PLC systems, and strong interpersonal skills. Applicants should be proactive, willing to travel within Malaysia, and possess a valid driving license. The position offers a challenging environment with bonuses and medical care.

Job description
Job Responsibilities
  • Liaising with current and potential customer requirements by establishing personal rapport and understanding key requirements.
  • Provide and present product & technical information to potential and existing customers.
  • Provide technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team. Becoming a competent key technical advisor and product advocate for MT products and solutions.
  • Communicate regulatory compliance requirement and applications effectively, demonstrating MT’s market leadership and expertise in the relevant fields.
  • Interact with customers’ engineering teams to illustrate MT valued propositions and integration regardless new or existing system.
  • Offer assistance for representing the products to customers and at field events such as conferences, seminars, etc. if required by sales team.
  • Develop customer personals by providing technical information, drawings, product seminars, webinar, MT Academy…etc.
  • Present technical proposals with Sales Team to secure a win-win agreement with customers with best solution possible.
  • Technical pre/post sales application support for range of solutions and work with sales and service team to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Project Management in collaboration with vendors, internal customers and end customers.
  • POC for selected key accounts for all technical matters.
  • Sourced and upkeep quality of localized vendors and Ownership of shared solution knowledge base.
  • Own and maintain Demo assets. Determine improvements by analysing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, or integration (electrical & mechanical) service applications in customer's environment; engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of equipment or services.
  • Prepare cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents and specification.
  • Gain customer's acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operational improvements in the production process.
  • Customer engagement through educational programs.
What You Need to Succeed
  • Degree/Diploma in any discipline preferably in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • First‑hand understanding of technical equipment mechanical & electrical system and seminar/marketing support
  • Knowledge on basic PLC Systems, Electrical & Mechanical (Automation Integration)
  • Knowledge on Internet 4.0 & IoT will be added advantage
  • Self‑starter with a proactive approach
  • Understanding of sales & distribution with intermediate project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and influencing ability
  • Valid driving license
  • Willing to travel within Malaysia region as and when required
