As the Safety & Health Senior Executive/Manager in our Tampoi factory, you will oversee EHS operations, manage regulatory compliance, drive safety performance, and promote a strong safety culture across all departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, implement, and continuously improve the company’s EHS management system.
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA 1994, FMA, DOSH, BOMBA, and relevant regulations.
- Drive HIRARC, inspections, audits, and corrective & preventive actions.
- Manage contractor and outsourced personnel safety performance.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and statutory reporting.
- Plan and deliver safety training, inductions, toolbox talks, and Pre-Task Talks (PTT).
Job Responsibilities
- Establish, review, and implement EHS policies, procedures, and SOPs aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain ongoing regulatory compliance and liaise with DOSH, BOMBA, and other authorities, including document submission, inspections, and audits.
- Monitor, enforce, and continuously improve safety and health control measures across all operations.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify hazards, unsafe acts, and non-conformities, ensuring timely rectification and closure.
- Exercise authority to stop unsafe work practices or processes posing imminent risk to employees, contractors, or the workplace.
- Prepare, analyze, and present EHS performance reports, trends, and improvement action plans to management.
- Manage, inspect, and ensure proper maintenance of safety, environmental, sanitation, and firefighting equipment, including fire alarm systems and firefighting equipment in compliance with BOMBA standards EHS aspects of machinery installation, maintenance activities, and the handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous substances.
- Manage environmental compliance, including waste disposal, wastewater discharge, and noise control, to meet permit and regulatory requirements.
- Implement occupational safety and health controls related to noise, vibration, air and water pollution, and workplace health risks.
- Promote a strong, accountable safety culture and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance across all departments.
Job Requirements
Diploma or higher qualification in Occupational Safety & Health or a related field.
Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience in an EHS or Safety & Health role; experience in a foreign-owned manufacturing environment is an added advantage.
Candidates with certification in CePSTPO & CePBFO are highly preferred.
Certified Competent Safety & Health Officer (SHO) registered with DOSH Malaysia (Green Book holder) will be an added advantage.
Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1994, Factories and Machinery Act (FMA), and other applicable Malaysian EHS legislation.
Proficient in Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia, and English (written and spoken).
Mandarin proficiency is required to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking management and stakeholders.
Able to work independently while managing both strategic planning and hands-on site execution.
