Job description

We are inviting innovative, passionate, and forward‑looking candidates to apply for the Safety & Health Officer (SHO) position, reporting to the Site Operations Director. The role is responsible to ensure workplace compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations, fostering a safe and healthy work environment while focuses on establishing a legally compliant, proactive safety culture and encompasses all regulatory responsibilities outlined in the Occupational Safety and Health (Safety and Health Officer) Regulations.

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Acts as the liaison with Malaysian regulatory bodies (e.g., DOSH, DOE), ensuring compliance through audits, inspections, licensing, and timely reporting.
  • Leads safety, health, and environmental audits, follows up on corrective actions, and maintains legal and corporate safety documentation.
  • Develops and delivers mandatory training, supports managers in coaching, incident investigations, and promotes a Zero-Harm culture across the plant.
  • Identifies potential non‑compliance and risks, implements corrective measures, and drives programs to prevent workplace injuries, illnesses, and unsafe practices.

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or equivalent with 5+ years’ experience (or diploma with 10+ years) and certified as a DOSH Registered Safety & Health Officer.

Behavioural Skills: Strong structured working approach, prioritization, communication, and interpersonal skills; proactive, independent, and able to foster positive stakeholder relationships.

Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of OHS laws and regulations, OHSAS 18001/ISO 14001 systems, audit processes, and accurate reporting to drive Zero-Harm initiatives.
