Job summary
A healthcare technology company in Penang is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Engineer with at least 3 years of experience. Responsibilities include surveying buildings, maintaining mechanical and electrical systems, and assisting with plumbing and heating repairs. The ideal candidate should have experience in a healthcare setting and strong attention to detail. The position offers a dynamic work environment focused on safety and compliance.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years’ experience in facilities management and engineering.
- Experience in healthcare settings considered an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of general maintenance processes.
Responsibilities
- Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems.
- Perform maintenance of electrical systems.
- Assist in setup and repair of ventilation and refrigeration systems.
- Maintain and repair plumbing and heating components.
- Prepare, prime, and paint building surfaces.
- Maintain locks and locking mechanisms.
- Document fire safety systems.
- Conduct general upkeep tasks.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Skills
- Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
- Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
- Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
- Maintain and repair plumbing and heating components
- Prepare, prime, and paint building interior and exterior surfaces
- Maintain and repair locks, locking mechanisms, closers, doors, and controllers.
- Maintain and complete documentation for fire extinguishers, fire suppression systems, building alarm contacts and other building systems
- Conduct general upkeep procedures and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- At least 3 years’ experience in facilities management and engineering, preferably with multiple engineering experience / discipline.
- Experience in a healthcare settings will be an added advantage.
- Any additional relevant certification will be considered an advantage
- In depth knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Manual dexterity and attention to detail
