Facilities Manager
Job summary
A leading technology company seeks a Facilities Manager in Seberang Perai, Malaysia. The role involves overseeing daily operations, managing facility projects, and ensuring compliance with local regulations. Candidates should hold a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and have over 10 years of experience in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are essential, along with prior experience in managing outsourced facility teams. The position is 100% onsite.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing.
- Prior experience managing IFM or large outsourced facility teams preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cleanroom operations and critical utilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of all facilities including utilities, buildings, and equipment.
- Lead facilities projects including cleanroom expansion and system upgrades.
- Ensure all operations comply with DOSH, DOE, Bomba, and local regulations.
Skills
Education
- Manage daily operations of all facilities, including utilities, buildings and equipment.
- Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
- Ensure all mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), HVAC, and fire protection systems are functioning properly.
- Monitor building performance and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Manage IFM partner/company responsible for:
- Soft services (cleaning, landscaping, pest control)
- Hard services (building maintenance, M&E support)
- Review and ensure IFM performance meets KPIs, SLAs, and contract obligations.
- Conduct monthly performance reviews and annual contract evaluation.
- Coordinate escalation, corrective actions, and service improvement plans.
- Ensure IFM practices meet safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
- Lead facilities projects including cleanroom expansion, tool hook-ups, and system upgrades.
- Plan budget, review tender documents, and supervise contractors.
- Support commissioning, FAT/SAT, and turnover to operations.
- Ensure all operations comply with DOSH, DOE, Bomba, and other local regulations.
- Perform HIRARC, chemical/gas safety assessments, and safety audits.
- Manage external vendors for utilities, equipment servicing, and major projects.
- Evaluate vendor performance and manage service contracts. · Ensure timely
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 10+ years experience in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing.
- Prior experience managing IFM or large outsourced facility teams is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cleanroom operations and critical utilities
- Leadership capabilities to manage a virtual team or xxxxx
