Job Description

To provide comprehensive legal advice and support to CelcomDigi’s operational and technical divisions—including Technology, Regulatory, Strategy, Innovation, Corporate Affairs, Enterprise Business, Sales and Retail, Customer Experience, Consumer Business, Transformation, Finance, and Human Resources. This role ensures compliance with all applicable laws, internal policies, and standard practices, while safeguarding CelcomDigi’s interests and ensuring timely, high-quality legal support in accordance with established service standards and management expectations.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents and agreements, ensuring alignment with applicable laws and internal policies for operational and technical matters.
• Evaluate legal risks and provide strategic guidance to safeguard CelcomDigi’s interests while supporting business objectives.
• Conduct legal research and analysis, offering well‑founded advice and recommending appropriate actions in CelcomDigi’s best interest.
• Foster strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external parties, maintaining professionalism and integrity at all times.
• Respond promptly and professionally to stakeholder requests, delivering sound legal advice that prioritizes CelcomDigi’s interests.
• Coordinate with external legal counsels as needed and oversee their performance to ensure high‑quality legal services.
• Ensure legal advice remains current by staying informed of regulatory changes and incorporating updates into guidance provided.
• Participate in meetings, negotiations, and discussions with internal and external parties, offering legal insights and preparing meeting minutes as required.
• Keep the Head of Section (HOS) or Head of Department (HOD) informed of any matters with significant impact on CelcomDigi or its divisions.
• Support the HOS/HOD in special projects and corporate initiatives across the CelcomDigi group of companies.
• Draft and review terms and conditions for CelcomDigi’s marketing campaigns, promotions, and other operational initiatives.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments in the telecommunications sector to ensure advice remains relevant and up to date.
• Conduct legal awareness sessions for business units on contract compliance and related legal matters.
• Provide general legal support to the HOS/HOD on all matters pertaining to the Legal Department, as assigned.

Skills & Competencies

• Stay abreast of legal and regulatory developments within the telecommunications industry to ensure that all legal guidance remains current, accurate, and aligned with industry standards.
• Educate business units on contract compliance and related legal matters through targeted awareness initiatives, as needed.
• Provide comprehensive support to the HOS/HOD on all matters pertaining to the Legal Division, including tasks and responsibilities assigned on an ad hoc basis.
• Strong strategic/critical thinking and legal foresight.
• Excellent command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant laws, including the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
• Independent, proactive, and adaptable in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
• Strong drafting, research and analytical skills.
• Excellent time and task management.
• High sense of responsibility and ownership.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements
