Work you will do

This role sits within the Core banking offering, which is a part of the Technology, Strategy & Transformation team of Deloitte Southeast Asia, which focused on design and implementation of core banking platforms across Retail, SME, Commercial and Private Banking.

In this role you shall be responsible for the following:

• Define the end-to-end architecture for the Temenos core banking platform including infrastructure, application, integration, data, and security domains.
• Serve as the design authority for all core banking components – including Temenos modules (Accounts, Lending, Payments, Treasury, etc.), extensibility framework (TAFJ/TAFC), and interfaces.
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to define a scalable, resilient, and future-ready platform roadmap.
• Lead the technical design of customizations, product configurations, and parameterizations based on business and regulatory requirements.
• Define and govern integration patterns with surrounding systems (CRM, digital channels, payments, GL, regulatory, etc.), using OFS, APIs, MQ, Kafka, etc.
• Provide guidance on DevOps, CI/CD, test automation, and environment strategy for Temenos.
• Drive decisions around performance tuning, batch processing optimization, data partitioning, and high availability setup.
• Evaluate and guide decisions around cloud adoption (e.g., Azure, AWS) or on-prem deployment of Temenos.
• Ensure platform meets non-functional requirements (security, observability, scalability, DR/HA).
• Review vendor solution designs, code, and custom components for quality and compliance with architecture principles.
• Support cutover planning, go-live readiness, and post-implementation stabilization.

• Tertiary qualification in a technology or business discipline with a well ranked institution.
• 8 - 12 years' relevant experience
• Experience in at least 2 full-cycle Temenos Transact implementations or major upgrades for medium or large sized banks.
• Deep knowledge of Temenos architecture (both TAFC and TAFJ) and hands-on experience designing complex, modular, and integrated solutions.
• Experience with clients in ASEAN is preferable
• Expertise in key Temenos modules – Core, AA, Funds Transfer, Lending, Treasury, TPH.
• Solid understanding of extensibility mechanisms
• Experience in defining and implementing integration architectures involving API gateways, MQ/Kafka, ESBs.
• Familiarity with data migration, ETL strategies, and legacy decommissioning.
• Strong knowledge of non-functional architecture areas: performance, scalability, observability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.
• Good understanding of cloud-native architectures, containerization (Kubernetes/Docker), and CI/CD tooling.
• Experience working with cloud deployments of Temenos (e.g., Temenos SaaS, Azure, AWS).
• Exposure to data privacy (e.g., GDPR, PDPA), and compliance-driven architecture.
• Excellent documentation, stakeholder communication, and technical leadership skills.
• Understanding of broader core banking technology landscape
• Understanding of the new age solution provider landscape and their capabilities across banking.
• Drive, tenacity, client focused and results oriented.
• An appreciation of the consulting lifestyle and ability to travel (both locally and abroad) is a prerequisite to fit to our short-term and long-term project assignment.
