A local educational authority is seeking a passionate School Office Manager for St. Osmund's CE Middle School in Dorchester to manage a team and oversee a range of administrative tasks. This role involves liaising with staff, parents, and pupils, ensuring compliance in systems, and leading social media efforts. The ideal candidate will possess strong IT and communication skills, with prior experience in school administration. This part-time position offers flexible hours during term time.

We are seeking an energetic and flexible School Office Manager. This role is at the heart of our school. You'll manage an office team of six, including managing workload distribution and liaising with the wider staff team, parents and pupils. The role will also include general administration, leading our social media presence and supporting our Senior Leadership team.
The successful candidate will have a passion for education, ambition, and the capacity to collaborate effectively within a strong team of staff.
This is a varied and busy role which will offer many different challenges and the opportunity to lead on different initiatives that contribute to improving outcomes for all of our pupils.
This is a part time role for 35 hours per week and hours can be flexible. The role is Monday to Friday term time only plus 5 days.

The pro rata salary shown is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and paid annual leave entitlement for an employee under 5 years' service.

Keeping Children Safe in Education
The school will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert. The salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments and will be adjusted at the start of employment and again if leaving part way through the school year to ensure the correct salary is received for the work completed in an academic year.
