Zenon is delighted to be commissioned by one of the UK’s Premier FBO & Maintenance Repair Organisations to source a Commercial and Procurement Manager on a permanent basis for their facilities based in Bishop Stortford.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all commercial and procurement contractual matters associated with the client’s group of companies. This key role will support business performance and growth through proactive contract management of customers and suppliers. The role includes managing the commercial and procurement teams by implementing and managing processes for quoting, contracting, and bought-in services that support company operations and deliver a seamless customer experience. The manager will lead contract negotiations and oversee contracts by creating and maintaining policies, procedures, and governance to manage commercial risk. Additionally, supporting the introduction of new business opportunities to help the company achieve its sales targets.

1. Contract Management: Act as the key commercial and procurement company representative for all contract-related matters, including negotiations, reviews, customer T&Cs, NDA’s, LTA’s, and risk identification.
2. Relationship Building: Develop strong relationships with customers and suppliers at senior and operational levels, establishing review meetings and monitoring commercial performance.
3. Commercial Insights: Provide insights to drive profitable growth and support the organization’s long-term goals.
4. Pricing and Bid Management: Review pricing structures, oversee bid compliance, gather departmental information, and manage bid/no-bid decisions.
5. Procurement Oversight: Ensure accurate and prompt supply of material and subcontractor pricing, and ensure relevant data and drawings are supplied prior to quoting.
6. Procedures and KPIs: Develop, implement, and monitor commercial and procurement procedures, producing KPIs to identify performance improvements.
7. Compliance: Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and regulations, including HMRC import/export and export control.
8. Business Development Support: Assist sales initiatives and project manage the introduction of new services.
9. Operational Liaison: Collaborate daily with department heads to ensure excellent customer service and supplier performance, understanding contractual obligations and managing additional works to prevent leakage.
10. Procurement Strategy: Develop strategies for stock management, identify reliable suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain supplier performance metrics.
11. Team Management: Line manage and develop the commercial and procurement teams, ensuring continuous coverage and fostering a culture of improvement, accountability, and safety.
12. Record Keeping and Audits: Maintain electronic records in line with data protection laws and participate in audits, implementing corrective actions as needed.
13. Additional Tasks: Support marketing efforts, handle additional projects, and undertake tasks as directed by the company.

• Experience in commercial and procurement management within an MRO or aviation manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of contract law and negotiation skills.
• Experience managing customer accounts and developing supply chain solutions.
• Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting deadlines.
• Proven leadership in managing multiple teams and developing procedures.
• Experience in producing KPIs and performance metrics.
• High attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office and business systems.
