Job summary
A leading mining company is looking for a Projects Manager located in Northern Cape, South Africa. The role involves managing capital projects, ensuring SHERQ compliance, and leading a project team. Ideal candidates will have at least 8 years of operational engineering experience and a degree in Engineering. Qualifications
- Minimum of eight (8) years operational engineering and production experience within a mining and plant environment.
- Minimum of two (2) years operational Team / Project leader / Supervisory experience in a project environment.

Education
Our client, a leading mining company, has an exciting opportunity for a Projects Manager with a completed Government Competency Certificate. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating capital and improvement projects, including budgeting, planning, and execution. The role requires strong inter-departmental and cross-functional knowledge, along with effective influencing and persuasion skills. Legal expertise, particularly in the Mine Health and Safety Act and other applicable legislation, as well as relevant Codes of Practice (COPs), is essential. The candidate must also possess in-depth SHERQ knowledge, including risk assessments and a solid understanding of all SHERQ policies and procedures.
- Manage and coordinate capital and improvement projects.

- Control project budgets and ensure cost management.
- Ensure SHERQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality) compliance.
- Implement change initiatives to improve project performance.
- Drive optimization of project outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Manage and develop project team members.
- Foster strong stakeholder relationships and communication.
- Organize sectional / functional services and ensure effective structure.
- Manage and oversee contractor performance and deliverables.
- Provide support to various functions and departments.
- Uphold strong work ethics and ensure adherence to company values.
- Degree (NQF Level 7) in Engineering.
- Certificate: Project Management Professional Qualification.
- Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) (Recommended).
- Post graduate qualification in Management.
- Minimum of eight (8) years operational engineering and production experience within a mining and plant environment.
- Minimum of two (2) years operational Team / Project leader / Supervisory experience in a project environment.
- Accreditation / Registration - Registered Professional Engineer (ECSA).
- Legal appointments 2.13.1 Appointment.
