Job summary

A leading FMCG company in Gauteng is seeking a Fitter with over 5 years of experience to maintain engineering equipment to international standards. The successful candidate will support plant operations, ensuring compliance with safety legislation, and will assist in risk management and reporting. Candidates should have a Trade test and experience with Depalletizers, Labelers, and other associated machinery. Preference will be given to candidates from under-represented groups per the company’s employment equity plan.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience as a fitter.
• 2 years experience in the FMCG industry.
• Must have experience with machinery relevant to plant maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Engineering Equipment to world-class standards.
• Support shift-based teams during operations.
• Contribute to maintenance planning meetings to ensure 95% plant availability.
• Ensure compliance with Tiger Brands’ policies and relevant legislation.

Job description

You will be responsible for Maintaining Engineering Equipment to world class standards while providing support to the Maintenance Coordinator. You will support the team in embedding maintenance processes within the organization with the key deliverables of maintaining the Integrity of the Plant. You will maintain, repair and optimize plant and associated devices to ensure plant availability and product quality at minimum cost.

What You’ll Bring To The Table

Plant Maintenance

• Operational Support – Provide specialist support to the shift-based teams during operations. Where requested assist as a functional expert in problem solving. Planned Maintenance –
• Take part in maintenance planning meetings, contributing suggestions and clarifying work required Ensure Plant availability of 95% at all times.

Governance and Compliance

• Keep up to date with the relevant legislation and best practice with a view ensuring that all relevant Tiger Brands’ policies are up-to-date and templates are compliant.
• Govern the organisational design framework and adherence to processes, policies and guidelines Ensure remedial actions are implemented timeously to address non-conformances.

Risk Management

• Complete and submit the departmental risk register as well as quarterly updates on risk mitigations Drive the ongoing monitoring, escalation and reporting on risk management issues.
• Flag all risks and assist in finding solutions

Reporting

• Provision of accurate and timely reports to the lead in accordance with statutory requirements. Use and apply appropriate approved reporting templates.
