Job summary
A multi-disciplinary consulting firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer in Gauteng, South Africa. You will ensure project excellence in electrical systems design, testing, and commissioning. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 10 years of experience with a strong focus on domestic/low voltage design. Responsibilities include crafting specifications, collaborating with teams, and maintaining project documentation. Registration as a Professional Engineer is required.

- At least five years must be post-professional registration in domestic/low voltage design.
- Strong technical background in engineering design and construction.

**Duties & Responsibilities** Craft meticulous electrical building services specifications and designs tailored to client needs and industry standards. Collaborate effectively with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure project feasibility and alignment with requirements. Leverage CAD software and engineering tools to refine designs and develop 3D models using CAD, Revit, and BIM software. Conduct thorough feasibility studies and cost‑benefit analyses for the implementation of new techniques. Maintain comprehensive project documentation, encompassing reports and specifications. Ensure strict adherence to regulations and safety standards throughout project lifecycles. Coordinate seamlessly with multi‑disciplinary teams to ensure timely, budget‑conscious, and high‑quality project completion. Identify opportunities for process enhancements and cost‑saving measures, offering recommendations to senior management. Facilitate regular project meetings, offering guidance to team members, and keeping stakeholders informed of progress and changes in milestones.
**Skills & Experience**
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Electrical Design (building services).
- At least five of the 10 years must be post‑professional registration and should be in domestic / low voltage design.
- Strong technical background in engineering design and construction.
**Qualification**
- Hold a BSc, BEng, or BTech degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer.
- Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
