Job summary
A consulting company based in Johannesburg is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to manage supplier invoices and assist with payment processing. This role requires accuracy and attention to detail, along with a High School Diploma focused on Accounting. The ideal candidate will have basic Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software. You'll maintain filing systems and provide administrative support during audits, ensuring that vendor information is current. Internship experience in finance is a plus.

Responsibilities
- Accurately input supplier invoices and financial data into accounting software.
- Maintain filing system for accounts payable documents.
- Assist in processing payments to suppliers.
- Verify payment terms.
- Provide administrative assistance during month-end closing and audits.
- Maintain up-to-date vendor information.
- Redirect vendor billing questions to senior staff.
Skills
Education
Accurately input incoming supplier invoices, expense claims, and related financial data into the accounting software
Maintaining a digital and physical filing system for all accounts payable documents to ensure audit readiness.
Assisting in processing payments to suppliers.
Verifying payment terms.
Providing administrative assistance during month-end closing and annual audits.
Maintaining up-to-date vendor information.
Redirecting vendor billing questions to the appropriate senior staff member and follow up as needed.
High School Diploma with a focus on Accounting or Mathematics.
Certificate or Diploma in Bookkeeping/Accounting is highly preferred.
0–1 year of office experience.
Internship experience in a finance environment is a plus.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic sums).
Familiarity with accounting software (Sage) is an advantage
