Samantha Piquito – Assistant Director - Finance

Job Summary :

Providing support across the Africa business, you will play a key role in managing and optimizing leave processes using SAGE Leave Management software.

Candidate Requirements :

Candidates should possess experience, knowledge, and skills that enable them to:

  • Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing knowledge and supporting team members.
  • Assist with Functional, System, and User Acceptance Testing for leave management tools.
  • Embed data analytics capabilities by coaching the adoption and usage of leave management software.
Essential Functions :
  1. Leave Reporting : Generate and manage regular and ad hoc leave reports to ensure accurate leave balances and statuses, including data compilation, trend analysis, and stakeholder presentation.
  2. Employee Leave Queries : Address leave queries promptly and accurately, investigating discrepancies and providing clear explanations.
  3. Timesheet Management : Capture and reconcile timesheets against SAGE Leave Management, ensuring data accuracy.
  4. Employee Access Management : Manage access for new employees and handle access queries, including reactivations.
  5. Reconciliations : Perform mid-month and month-end reconciliations for terminated employees, ensuring accurate leave balances before payout.
  6. HR Assistance and Exit Checklists : Support Talent with leave-related queries and sign off on exit checklists.
  7. Ad Hoc Assistance and Leave Approval Setup : Generate reports, modify leave approvers, and maintain approval processes.
Analytical / Decision Making Responsibilities :
  • Resolve issues with perseverance and determination.
  • Manage multiple projects flexibly.
  • Address complex technical issues and understand client needs.
  • Investigate issues for continuous improvement.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, challenge existing processes, and promote change.
Knowledge and Skills :
  • Professional approach with understanding of leave management processes.
  • Problem-solving and credible solution provision.
  • Confidence to challenge appropriately.
  • Strong analytical, numeracy, and attention to detail skills.
  • Effective time management and prioritization.
  • Proactive learner and knowledge sharer.
  • Ability to translate technical terms into business language.
  • Excellent communication skills for presentations, training, and sharing knowledge.
  • Professional in delivering challenging messages and fostering understanding.
  • Ability to advocate for change effectively.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel.
Other Requirements :

Ability and flexibility to work in a virtual environment across multiple time zones.

Job Requirements :
  • Education : Relevant Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field (preferred).
  • Experience : 3-5 years in Payroll or Leave Management.
  • Proficiency : In SAGE Leave Management software.
